  Combat Skills

It is a good idea to write up a combat or fighting skill for your character. There's a very good chance that at some point, your character will engage in some kind of fight with another character. Even if your character has no fighting skills, you should write that up too. If your character knows a combat specialty, cover that separately. For example, if your character took a basic self-defense course, you would write that up, but if they also were quite handy with a gun that would be a separate skill.

Remember that not every character can be a Martial Artist. In some character's cases, their Martial Arts are their main ability or replace fancy powers. High, or even moderate, level ability in the Martial Arts must be explained in the background of the character. It must make sense, and simply cannot be tossed in. High level Martial Arts will not be awarded very often.
