  Character Races
[index] [humans] [metahumans] [mutants] [other]

The race of your character is determined by the character's genetic make-up. The character's race, in addition to their class, helps to determine how we feel the character will fit into the MUX world. These classifications address the 'power' issue. Does the character have mutant powers? Magical powers? No powers? Is the character an alien? You can be as creative as possible while still within the other character and theme guidelines while picking your character's race. You should note, however, that most people in the IC World are human. The next highest proportion is mutant, then 'other'—the aliens and metahumans.

If you would like to apply for a character of another race, feel free to do so as long as you consider all other guidelines for character application. There must be a good reason for the desired race to exist within the game world, or at the very least, some justification for how your character got there!

This information is actually stored on the +finger under the attribute RACE, and this attribute is set during character creation.
